Associate Membership: From Spark to Supernova

Hello All!

What do you think about the Associate Membership options?

In particular, we have decided to name our donation levels after typical plasmas, thus slipping some plasma education into fundraising. Help us refine/properly order classification of levels here.

What we have now is shown below. Some things seem out of order, and others disproportionate with respect to donation amount. It would be cool if we had a really specific level of donation chart that actually reflects plasma parameters.

Levels of Donation

$60 - Spark
$120 - Fire
$500 - Blaze
$1000 - Aurora
$3,000 - Solar Wind
$5,000 - Lightning
$10,000 - Nebula
$25,000 - Solar Corona
$50,000 - Solar Core
$100,000 - Sustained Burn
$200,000 - Inertial Ignition
$500,000 - Advanced Fuel
$2,000,000 - Nova
$10,000,000 - Supernova

When we all join sparks, we’ll add up to supernova. Yay!

If you’d like to author posts on the website (as opposed to just here in the forums), let me know!

I’ll need to grant you “Author” status. Then, you post! Instructions for posting below.

A special Thank You to Chris and Scott for kicking off the process. It started with their forum posts which made excellent article material. I have thus upgraded them from regular “Member”, to “Author” status. They now have the ability to post to the website and not just the forums.

Our apologies for the paucity of fusion experimental updates on the website. Information about fusion projects comes under the category of content. As a startup, we are presently focused on structure and design: we ponder information architecture, web platform and procedural questions, and how the information best serves the goals of the fusion endeavor.

It will take some thought to choose the best ways to aggregate and showcase the science and to track experiments. We’d love to hear from you as we make these decisions. We’ll be posting our first draft project survey soon and would love feedback.
